I’m Erica Dischinger. I am very excited to be a part of the Little Forest School and to help build this new program in the Northwoods from the ground up! I have spent the past 12 years working with children in a variety of roles and am devoted to the success of the children and families that I will serve.
As the new Assistant Director/Lead Teacher, I am passionate about creating interactive and innovative learning experiences for the kids in my care, as well as fun events for the families to get to know each other too. I have been the Children’s Librarian in Minocqua for the past seven years and have received high accolades for my creative programs, so I am thrilled to be able to put those skills to use at Little Forest School. I have served as an assistant preschool teacher, school-aged before and after school teacher, summer counselor, and lead teacher at Head Start as well. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication and an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education.
My husband Cliff and I moved to the Minocqua area in 2017 to be closer to family and the outdoors. We enjoy rustic camping and canoeing (especially in the Boundary Waters), snowmobiling, snow shoeing, fishing and ice fishing, being on the lake and exploring the woods. I have a step daughter Brandy (16) and two sons, Bearett (5) and Hawken (3) and we are always out and about doing fun things and exploring. I am thrilled that the focus of this new school is nature!
I look forward to meeting and getting to know the future families of Little Forest School! Let’s work together to make this school a wonderful new addition to our community!
